Imani is a vibrant 16-year-old who brings joy to everyone she meets. She loves competing with her school’s track team in shot put, volunteering with her church’s media ministry, spending time with her six-year-old “pawsister” Racine, and watching her favorite teams and comic-inspired movies. Family is everything to Imani — especially traveling to different cities for family reunions and celebrating big birthdays together. Despite the challenges she faces with kidney disease, Imani continues to smile, laugh, and dream about her future. One day, she hopes to become a paramedic or EMT so she can help others in their hardest moments and explore as much of the world as possible. From her mother’s perspective, the wish is simple: more of Imani’s laughter, more birthdays, more track meets, and more time together. Through Wish Upon a Donor, Imani and her family are wishing upon someone willing to learn about living kidney donation. One person’s decision could change — and save — her life. If you are healthy and willing to learn more about becoming a living kidney donor, please consider answering Imani’s wish, or share her story so it reaches the one person who can help. Because every wish deserves a chance — and every laugh deserves to last.
