Jeanette has spent her entire life living with Maple Syrup Urine Disease, and after waiting two years for a liver transplant, she is ready to stop waiting and start living. Proud of her Ecuadorian American heritage and deeply devoted to her family, she dreams of returning to school to become a surgical technologist and one day care for children in the hospital. A living liver donor could give her the opportunity to pursue those dreams, travel with the people she loves, and live a life no longer defined by her disease.
