Fiber Connect Responds to Outage on Hillsdale Rd (Rt. 23), Egremont MA
Multiple trees fell at once and downed a utility pole and power lines on a stretch of Hillsdale Rd (Rt. 23) in Egremont, MA early Friday morning, Nov. 1, 2019. By 8 AM National Grid allowed Fiber Connect's crew access to the scene to begin repairs. The lost of Fiber Connect's closure (destroyed by the falling trees) affected service to 8 subscribers. By 4 PM subscriber service was restored. The original fiber cable was removed and new fiber cable was pulled and lashed to a steel support cable. A new closure was built and mounted to the replacement utility pole.
